QUICK AND EASY HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS |
Supplies needed for pumkin faces and pumpkin bottle. Glass votive holders, (I bought mine at Walmart) any size you like as long as it's round! Spray paint for pumpkins: Rust-Oleum- inverted spray paint, (it's the only kind of spray paint that was bright orange. The paint comes out of the end of the nozel instead of the side. I suggest you practice with it once before you spray the glass votives. Also it is used to mark lawns and roads. I bought mine at Walmart! Also needed: a bottle of Gallery Glass- color: Amber- made by Plaid. Sold at Walmart, Jo-Anne Fabric stores and all Michael's craft stores. Small peice of contact paper Old toothbrush Directions: draw 2 eyes (triangles) and a nose (triangle) and a mouth on the back of the contact paper. Cut the pieces out and apply them to the voitve to form a face. Turn the votives upside down ( I usually put them on a tall wine bottle) and spray paint them with the orange paint. Let the paint dry well before touching. When paint is dry - use a straight pin to help lift up the contact paper. Remove all peices of contact paper. Apply the Gallery Glass to the clear areas of the votive. (that would be the places you removed the contact paper from) Let the Gallery Glass dry for about 8 hours, until you can tell it's dry. You could use any color Gallery Glass you like, be creative! With a pencil draw some lines down the face. float Black down one side of each line On the other side of each line float yellow, or white down each line. With an old toothbrush, spatter the entire thing with white. Then using Black spatter the jar again with black. Let dry Add a voitve candle and light your pumkin up! For the pumkin with the black candle in the rim, I used a bottle I found at a garage sale. There are so many odd shaped bottles at garage sales and antique shops they are fun to play with! I spray painted the jar the same way as I did the others, but I painted the face in black with acrylic paint. Added the lines, spattered it, tied on a jute twine bow, stuck a candle in the top and I had a cute halloween decoration! You don't need to put a sealer on these because the spray paint stays pretty well! |

For the ghost, just spray paint the votive with white. Let dry. Paint on two black eyes! That's it, that easy! Enjoy! |
