Painted Santa Heart |
© by Cindy Trombley 2009 |
This Santa is painted on a watercolor shaped heart. But even easier is his face,
which I cut out of textured paper that is readily available in most craft stores. I then just had to paint the eyes, mouth, cheeks and face details as you can see. Or you can paint him all on the watercolor paper, it's up to you. I give you directions for both! This one is done in a Victorian style. But you can do him in the traditonal red or any color you like. Below is a picture of a tradtional santa done on a watercolor heart, such as this one. I made it last year and never put it into a pattern, so the moustache is just a bit different than this one, but you get the idea of how you can change the style. I used yarn for the brim of the hat on the traditional santa and a feather boa for the brim of the hat on the victorian one above. I give you the kind of yarn used for his beard, which is very common and readily available. For the background on the heart, I glued some decorative paper, which saves alot of time on painting! You can do whatever you like with the heart and it's fun to use it in different ways. The whole heart is 6" wide and 5" tall. A very nice size for lots of decorations! This one paints up fast, is fun to decorate and gets a good price at craft sales. I have sold many, many of these! |
