Paint Palette: Deco Art Americana:

Rookwood Red                                 Antique White
Burnt Umber                                      Black
Gooseberry Pink                              Light Buttermilk
Country Red                                     Sable Brown
Heritage Brick                                  Black Plum

If you are painting this design on a jar, here is what you need to
get your jar ready to paint.

Spray Paint Grey Primer- any brand will do, the cheap ones work well!
Make sure the jar is clean on the inside and outside.
To remove any labels soak the jar in hot soapy dish water for at least
20 min.  If you have trouble getting the labels off,  put some Goo gone
on the label, wait 10 minutes and then remove.

To prep for painting:  in a well ventilated area, spray paint the
outside of the jar, including the top rim.
Give the jar at least 3 coats of paint.  Let the paint dry in-between
each coat.  When the jar is completely dry, 
Basecoat the jar with Light Buttermilk or the color of your choice.
After it’s completely basecoated and  dry you can transfer your pattern onto it.

Step by step painting instructions:
Basecoat her hair, hands and legs     with Antique White.
Shade around her head with Burnt Umber.  Also in-between
her fingers.
Dry brush the center of her face with Light Buttermilk and also
her fingers.
Eyes and eye lashes: basecoat with Black.
Basecoat her hair, nose and little hearts on her hands
with  Heritage Brick. Shade all with Black Plum. 
Highlight all  with Country Red.
Dry brush her cheeks on using Gooseberry Pink.

Bless’ns sign: basecoat with Sable Brown. Add grain lines with
Burnt Umber. Shade sign with Burnt Umber.  Highlight with
Light Buttermilk.
Add “Bless’ns” with Black.

Checks around the bottom of the jar:
Stencil one row of checks around the bottom of the jar.
Use the size checks that is appropriate for your jar.
basecoat the red checks  with Heritage Brick.
Shade one side of each check with Black Plum. Highlight the other
side of the check with Country Red.
Add 5 Light Buttermilk dots to each check.
Shade the top of the other checks with Soft Black.

To finish: float Soft Black around the entire design and under the
rim of jar.
Rim of jar: basecoat with Heritage Brisk.
Glue fabric strip of your choice around the rim.
Seal with Delta Ceram Coat Clear Gloss Glaze
